Introducing First Step — A Running/Walking Program Just for Women!
First Step Women’s Running/Walking Program
Ladies — We want to support you on your path to fitness!
Join us for this 8-week running/walking program — just for women!
Whether you want to learn how to run, get into shape, train for your first 5k, improve your 5k performance, or simply work on running consistently and taking some time out for yourself, First Step can help you on your journey!
First Step is for you if:
♦ You are new to running
♦ You are returning to running after an extended “break”
♦ You are a walker who would like to progress to running/jogging
♦ You currently run at a pace greater than 10 minutes/mile for 3 miles or less.
This will be a positive community of women who want to enjoy the benefits of group training and support, meet new walking and running buddies, and who want to work together on their fitness goals.
First Step will meet twice/week at the Carlisle store or other locations close to the store to walk/run as a group. We’ll also cover important tips on nutrition, hydration, stretching, strength training, equipment, form, pacing and more.
Completion of the program will be CELEBRATED at a local 5k at the end of the 8 weeks. Although participation is not required, it is strongly encouraged that you register for the race to accomplish your goal!
First Step will run February 27 – April 22, 2017 at Appalachian Running Company Carlisle – 290 East Pomfret St, Carlisle, PA.
The program includes:
♦ Run/Walk program created by our expert running coaches
♦ Monday night run/walk session: 6:15 – 7:30pm
♦ Saturday morning run/walk session: 7:30am – 8:30am
♦ Private Facebook Group – for asking questions, getting tips/expert advice, inspiration & more!
♦ Appalachian Running Company shirt
