Linda Reilly: Finding Purpose and Passion in Running

Linda Reilly is a wife, a mom of 2 great kids and a sales associate at Appalachian Running Company in Carlisle.

She’s also PASSIONATE about running.

But that wasn’t always the case.

Although always active, she was never serious about running until 2010.

That’s the year her son was diagnosed with Autism and she decided to run her first 5k – Logan’s Run for Autism – as a way to do something to help him.  She’s been actively involved with Logan’s Run ever since and even served as race director for the event in April of 2017.

Since that first 5k back in 2010, Linda has gone on to run the Boston Marathon, New York City Marathon, and has also moved into ultra running – having just completed the Laurel Highlands 70.5 mile ultra trail run.

For Linda, running is more than just stress relief, fun with friends or even the challenge of competition.  In addition to these things, running is an outlet for her to combine her passion with purpose.

She enjoys running in support of great causes such as The Organization for Autism Research, The American Cancer Society and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society — and often dedicates her races to honor family, friends and loved ones.

Linda is a great encourager of others and finds joy in helping people — whether it’s finding that perfect pair of shoes to help them move better or coaching them in their journey to learn to run.

She makes a difference in people’s lives every day and all of us at Appalachian Running Company are proud to know her!
